The firm was formed in 1993 by the merger of two of North Bay's oldest and most prestigious law firms, Wallace & Carr and Klein & Klein. This merger brought together law practices established by George Wallace and Albert Klein, both respected and prominent local lawyers.

George Wallace, a North Bay native whose father and grandfather ran the local brickyard and were contractors, commenced practising law in North Bay in 1936 with the firm Reynolds & Wallace. In 1949 he took over the practice of the late John McColeman. With the exception of his years in the Canadian Forces during World War II, he continued practicing for 55 years until his death in February 1992.

George's accomplishments include Q.C. in 1951, Bencher of the Law Society from 1971 to 1979, Judge of Juvenile and Family Court and Provincial Court Family Division from 1958 to 1987, Life member of the Canadian Bar Association, Life member of the Advocates Society, Life member of the Law Society of Upper Canada. In 1992, George was named one of the first recipients of the prestigious Law Society Medal for outstanding service to the legal profession.

Albert Klein, also a North Bay pioneer, was called to the Bar in 1954 and took over the practice of the late Judge H. J. Reynolds, eventually building the Klein firm to prominence in North Bay. He received his Q.C. in 1967 and practised in North Bay until his death in the Fall of 1991.

Over the years the Wallace firm has had many local lawyers associated with it including: Norm Nadeau, Dick Tafel, Jack Trussler, Danny Ferguson, Peter Picherack, Doug Woltz, Rodger Bowness, Russ Thompson, Lionel Rivet and Jamie Wilcox. Klein alumni include Ernie Loukidelis, Tom Farmer, Frank Falconi, Rob Martyn, Peter Rutland, Bill Sangster, Randy Thomson, Doug Thomas, John Rogers, Clemens Eggert and Jim Klein.

The firm was augmented by the addition of Robert Carr in 1951. He continued as a partner of the firm until his retirement in 1997. Jack Wallace joined the firm in 1971 and Don Wallace followed in 1975. Paul Trenker, another local boy, joined this talented group in 1989. After George Wallace's death in 1992, the firm decided to revitalize itself in order to continue to provide a high level of service to our clients. Larry Klein moved his busy practice to this firm in 1993.

After the merger of the two firms, other changes were made in 1994 when Ed O'Hagan, an experienced real estate and commercial lawyer joined us and in 1995 Alain Perron brought his skills and enthusiasm to the firm while also adding a bilingual dimension. Jamie Wilcox joined the firm in 1998 bringing the group to 7. In 2003 Gregory DuCharme joined the firm replacing Ed O'Hagan who had retired. Greg's practice in the areas of Taxation and Bankruptcy broadened the firm's services to its clients.

In 2006 Larry Klein became Justice Larry Klein of the Ontario Court of Justice and left the firm to sit in the Parry Sound District. Heather Zuck joined the firm as an associate lawyer at this time. In 2007 Robert Martyn joined the firm as Counsel bringing more than 30 years experience in Real Estate, Corporate Commercial and Wills and Estates. The current lawyer compliment sits at 8 lawyers.
